Hello World

Congratulations to all the CA students who recently completed the School of Accountancy in Ontario. Most of you now join the many that will be facing the 2012 Uniform Evaluation (UFE) September 11-13.

Welcome to ufeblog.com. I hope this site can play a role in helping you get through the UFE and I hope you’ll stick around to create a community here that will help CA students succeed this year and in the years ahead.

Although I can’t rival any professional training programs I hope you find this site a useful supplement to them. There are many CA students who do not have access to the same caliber of training or resources received by the Big accounting firms’ students. I want to level the playing field a little. I hope you both make use of the site as well as contribute via comments and the facebook page where I hope to create a community.

This is not just a blog. Our vision is to be the unofficial source for information about the UFE and online community for CA students. Of course I welcome any comments, suggestions, critiques and so forth so feel free to e-mail me anytime.

Lastly, we all stand on the shoulders of others so I must acknowledge and thank all the other accounting blogs, sites, mentors and organizations from which I drew inspiration for this site. I hope you find this helpful as you get through the UFE.

With that said… We’ve got a lot of work to do so let’s get started.

I love open conversations. Casual is fine, professional is fine, but this is a community so anything abusive, demeaning or annoying will be removed at my discretion. Below is a guide to help keep you on the straight and narrow.

  1. 1. Use a name or alias. I understand wanting to keep your name personal, so make something clever up and stick to it. We can't tell each other apart if everybody is "Anon".
  2. 2. Remember the point. This is a community to discuss, debate and assist each other to pass the CFE or discuss other CPA things. Let's act like we're all the intelligent professionals that we are supposed to be.
  3. 3. No personal attacks. It's okay to disagree with opinions or advice but argue the point, not the person.
  4. 4. Don't be obnoxious. You should be proud if you are the next honour roll writer or work for a prestigious firm but don't be obnoxious by using it to feel better than others.
